This is an individual-contributor role for an engineer who enjoys developing practical solutions, improving delivery pipelines, and resolving complex technical issues.

Working with software engineers, cloud architects, Information Security, and business stakeholders, this individual will implement DevSecOps practices, infrastructure as code, cloud automation, and reliable software delivery patterns. The ideal candidate combines strong Azure engineering skills, a security-focused mindset, and the ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build, configure, and support secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure for enterprise applications, data platforms, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that improve software delivery speed, reliability, quality, and security.
  • Implement security controls within the software delivery lifecycle, including automated security scanning, policy enforcement, secrets management, and compliance monitoring.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or comparable technologies.
  • Work with Information Security and architecture teams to implement identity, access, network security, vulnerability management, and cloud governance requirements.
  • Support Microsoft Foundry, Azure AI, and related Azure services used to develop and deploy AI-powered applications and agents.
  • Implement and improve reusable automation, deployment guardrails, and platform engineering patterns.
  • Configure monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability to improve platform reliability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, deployment, integration, and security issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Partner with software engineering teams to improve application deployment approaches and adopt cloud-native engineering practices.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of Azure and DevSecOps technologies that improve platform capabilities and reduce operational risk.
  • Share technical knowledge and contribute to DevSecOps and cloud engineering best practices across teams.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud operations.
  • Practical experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or comparable CI/CD technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, including Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or equivalent technologies.
  • Working knowledge of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, privileged access, secrets management, encryption, network security, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience implementing automated security checks and controls within delivery pipelines.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Experience with monitoring, observability, incident resolution, and platform reliability practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and continuous-improvement skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across engineering, security, architecture, and business teams.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience building and supporting production workloads in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience building, maintaining, or improving CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience implementing cloud security controls and DevSecOps practices.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft Foundry, Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, or related AI platform technologies.
  • Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or generative AI platforms.
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or another regulated or security-conscious environment.
  • Microsoft Azure certification such as Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer, Azure Security Engineer, or a comparable credential.
  • Experience contributing to shared engineering standards, reusable automation, or platform capabilities used by multiple teams.
