Role brief

devopsroles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Run database infrastructure on AWS, tuning queries, indexes, connections and replication for reliable performance
  • Use TypeScript CDK to manage infrastructure, keeping console-based changes rare
  • Find ways to reduce spending on RDS/Aurora, storage and compute
  • Build Bash and TypeScript tools to check backups, test failovers and plan capacity
  • Maintain infrastructure CI/CD pipelines and help teams shape schemas and data access before implementation

What you bring

  • At least three years in DevOps, platform or infrastructure work, with a strong database focus
  • Production PostgreSQL experience covering query plans, vacuuming, partitioning and replication
  • Hands-on AWS work with RDS and Aurora, plus ECS or EKS
  • Proficiency in Bash, infrastructure-as-code skills and experience with agentic AI workflows

Who this fits

This is a hands-on role with ownership across managed services, SaaS and on-prem deployments. You’ll work on site in Lebanon.

From the employer

Aspire Software is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team in Lebanon.

Here is a little window into our company: Aspire Software operates and manages wholly owned software companies, providing mission-critical solutions across multiple verticals. By implementing industry best practices, Aspire delivers a time sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.

We're looking for a DevOps engineer with a strong database background. The right candidate combines solid AWS infrastructure experience with a DBA mindset — someone who is proactive about performance, cost, and reliability without needing to be prompted. This is a hands-on role with real ownership across multiple deployment targets (Managed Services, SaaS, on-prem). Priority for AI enabled DevOps engineers who leverage agentic workflows in their day-to-day

work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimise database infrastructure across AWS (ECS/EC2, EKS)
  • Drive query performance tuning, indexing, connection pooling, and replication management
  • Own infrastructure-as-code using TypeScript CDK; rare manual console changes
  • Identify and execute cost optimisation opportunities across RDS/Aurora, storage, and compute
  • Build automation tooling in Bash and TypeScript for backup validation, failover testing, and capacity planning
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on schema design and data access patterns ahead of implementation
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes across all deployment targets

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a DevOps, platform, or infrastructure role with a strong database focus
  • Production-level experience with PostgreSQL (query plans, vacuuming, partitioning, replication)
  • Hands-on AWS experience with RDS, Aurora, and at least one of ECS or EKS
  • Infrastructure-as-code proficiency; TypeScript CDK preferred, Terraform or Pulumi considered
  • Proficient in Bash scripting
  • Agentic AI workflows

TECH STACK

  • PostgreSQL · SQL Server · AWS RDS/Aurora · ECS/EC2 · EKS · TypeScript CDK · Bash · GitLab, Pipelines · AI-assisted tooling
