What you'll do
- Learn to plan network changes and improve how existing networks run
- Install and support network devices, including routers, switches, proxy servers, DNS and DHCP
- Adjust firewalls and network paths to improve security and efficiency, then monitor and troubleshoot performance
- Schedule network updates, investigate faults, and explore automation use cases with cloud engineers and architects
- Learn to deploy and run Azure, AWS or GCP environments using automation tools such as Python, Ansible or Terraform
What you bring
- You are pursuing a diploma or bachelor's degree in a listed computing or engineering field, or an equivalent qualification
- You understand basic networking and IT security, along with operating systems such as Linux or Microsoft
- You have foundational knowledge of IT concepts and programming, such as OSI, ITIL, JavaScript or Python

This internship suits a student keen to build skills across networks, systems, automation and cloud. The role is based in Singapore and is intended to run for at least five months.

You will have the opportunity to learn
- How to design and implement network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.
- How to install, configure and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP.
- How to configure firewalls, routing and switching to maximise network efficiency and security.
- How to maximise network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
- How to arrange scheduled updates and investigate faults in the network.
- How to work closely with the senior cloud engineers and cloud architects to identify and understand the different use cases for automation and devops.
- How to deploy and operate commercial clouds; namely Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- About automation skillsets such as Python, Ansible, Chef, Terraform.
The ideal profile should be/have:
- Pursuing a Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology/Information Systems, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- Possess a keen interest in Networks, Systems, Automation, Cloud, ITIL, Project Management and Digital Solutions.
- Knowledge in IT Concepts (e.g. OSI/ITIL/ITSM).
- Knowledge in programming algorithm & coding (e.g. Javascript, Python).
- Knowledge in operating system (e.g. Linux/Microsoft).
- Understanding on Fundamental Networking and IT Security.
