About the Role

As a Platform Architect, you will lead the evolution of Rapsodo's backend, frontend, and mobile ecosystem into a scalable, unified platform. Working across multiple engineering teams, you'll define architectural standards, drive modernization initiatives, and shape the technical foundation that powers the next generation of Rapsodo products.

What You'll Do

• Define the long-term platform architecture and modernization roadmap across backend, frontend, and mobile systems.
• Design shared platform services by identifying common capabilities while defining clear boundaries for product-specific domains.
• Establish architecture standards, service boundaries, API contracts, ownership models, and scalable integration patterns.
• Lead modernization initiatives using proven migration strategies such as Strangler Fig, feature flags, backward-compatible APIs, and incremental delivery.
• Leverage AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate system design, documentation, code reviews, and engineering productivity.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, DevOps, and QA teams to improve platform scalability, deployment, observability, and operational excellence.
• Mentor engineers, lead architecture and design reviews, and contribute hands-on through coding, refactoring, and technical validation.
• Maintain architectural documentation, decision records, and platform governance while driving engineering best practices across teams.
  

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Software Architect, Platform Architect, or in a similar technical leadership role.
• Proven experience modernizing complex software platforms and transforming monolithic or fragmented systems into modular architectures.
• Deep understanding of microservices, modular monoliths, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and domain-driven design (DDD).
• Strong backend development experience with Go (Golang) and/or Node.js, along with solid proficiency in object-oriented languages such as C#, Java, or Kotlin.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue, and a strong understanding of full-stack architecture.
• Strong experience designing scalable APIs, service contracts, authentication and authorization flows, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform or AWS), Docker, messaging systems, object storage, and modern cloud-native architectures.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar solutions within engineering workflows.
• Strong database design experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
• Ability to balance long-term architectural vision with incremental product delivery and business priorities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
