From the employer
Let's build Pyyne together!
Are you excited by the idea of working on cutting-edge technology while shaping the direction of the company you’re part of? At Pyyne, you’ll do both. We're looking for a motivated colleague to join our consultant team who wants to take ownership of their projects and play an active role in building an international, people-first tech consultancy.
About the Role:
As a Platform Engineer Consultant at Pyyne, you will partner directly with client teams to design, build, and scale resilient cloud-native infrastructure and modern developer platforms. You will serve as the bridge between infrastructure and software engineering, championing internal developer platforms (IDPs), operational excellence, and automated delivery pipelines.
In this role, you’ll step up as a trusted technical partner, leading architectural decisions, guiding client stakeholders through modern platform strategies, and treating the platform as a product to empower product engineering teams.
Technical Requirements
Kubernetes & Cloud Infrastructure: Architect, deploy, secure, and operate production-grade Kubernetes environments across major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Developer Platform & Tooling: Design and maintain self-service developer platforms and automated delivery pipelines that eliminate developer friction and accelerate deployment frequency.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Write modular, maintainable, and declarative infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi.
GitOps & CI/CD: Build, optimize, and standardize CI/CD and GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Observability & Reliability: Implement centralized monitoring, logging, alerting, and distributed tracing stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/Datadog) to ensure high availability and observability.
Technical Leadership & Consulting: Lead platform streams, conduct architectural design reviews, translate business goals into resilient technical roadmaps, and communicate clearly with client stakeholders.
Best Practices & Enablement: Champion platform engineering principles, DevSecOps practices, container security, and mentor client teams on cloud-native patterns.
About You
Kubernetes Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience running and troubleshooting Kubernetes in production. Strong knowledge of container orchestration, ingress controllers, service meshes, networking (CNI), storage, Helm/Kustomize, and security policies (RBAC, network policies).
Cloud & IaC: Proven experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and advanced Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform.
Automation & CI/CD: Solid experience setting up enterprise-grade CI/CD automation and GitOps-driven deployment strategies.
Observability: Strong working knowledge of cloud-native observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, tracing frameworks).
Consulting & Communication: Excellent client-facing presence, with the ability to articulate technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in English.
Education: Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong Pluses:
Backend Engineering Background: Prior experience as a backend software engineer (e.g., modern Java/JVM, Go, or Python). Understanding application architecture, microservices, and API lifecycles gives you the empathy and insight needed to build platforms developers love using.
Kubernetes Extensions: Experience authoring custom Kubernetes Operators or CRDs.
Cloud-Native Networking & Security: Experience with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd, or Cilium) and container vulnerability scanning/runtime security tools (Trivy, Falco, Kyverno, or OPA/Gatekeeper).
