What you bring

- Hands-on knowledge of AWS services such as ECS/EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, Kafka, and SNS/SQS
- Experience with CI/CD, Docker or Kubernetes, and an orchestration platform such as ECS or EKS
- Proficiency in JavaScript or Python, plus a working grasp of cloud security, networking, and reliability
Who this fits
This is a senior, hands-on infrastructure role that also involves coaching engineers and working across engineering teams. You’ll need to work in person at the SoHo office in New York City five days a week.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help design, build, and scale Posh’s cloud infrastructure as our platform grows to support millions of users every month. You’ll work closely with product engineers, data, and security teams to ensure that our systems are reliable, performant, and easy to operate.
This role combines hands-on DevOps expertise with a software engineering mindset — building automation, observability, and developer tooling that accelerates our entire organization.
This is an in-person role at our New York City office in SoHo, 5 days a week onsite.
What You’ll Do
Design and evolve infrastructure: Architect resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure using cloud-native tools (AWS preferred).
Automate everything: Develop CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code systems (e.g., Terraform, GitHub Actions, Docker) to make deployment seamless and consistent.
Monitor and improve reliability: Implement alerting, logging, and tracing systems that empower teams to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with the Platform PM and engineers across backend, frontend, and data to set infrastructure priorities based on growth, product plans, and operational needs—and improve how services are built, tested, deployed, and operated.
Harden cloud security: Contribute to IAM design, least-privilege access, and posture management across environments.
Drive operational excellence: Identify bottlenecks and reliability risks, and build solutions that scale with Posh’s growth.
Mentor and elevate: Coach engineers on best practices for infrastructure design, cloud efficiency, and secure deployment.
Identify and remove scaling bottlenecks: Investigate performance and cost across cloud infrastructure, databases, data warehouses, queues, and application access patterns. Use production telemetry, profiling, and load testing to identify constraints and prioritize improvements.
What You Bring
5+ years of experience as an Infrastructure, DevOps, or Backend Engineer.
Extensive experience with Terraform and reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns
Deep knowledge of AWS services (ECS/EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, Kafka, SNS/SQS, etc.) and infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/K8s), and orchestration systems (ECS, EKS, or equivalent).
Proficiency in JavaScript or Python, and familiarity with scripting for automation.
Strong grasp of cloud security principles, identity and access management, and cost optimization.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, observability, and system reliability.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to partner with diverse engineering teams.
A passion for automation, scalability, and improving developer velocity.
Nice to Have
Experience with multi-region or distributed cloud systems.
Exposure to compliance and security tooling for cloud posture management.
Contributions to open-source infrastructure tools.
Background in mentoring engineers or leading reliability initiatives.
