What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for a Senior Identity Platform Engineer to manage Amway’s customer identity platforms. This hands-on individual contributor role includes technical leadership responsibilities, such as leading platform delivery, planning the backlog, guiding engineers, and managing releases. The role works closely with identity development, site reliability engineering, security, and FinOps teams to deliver identity capabilities that are secure, reliable, scalable, observable, high-performing, and cost-efficient.

What You’ll Do:

• Be a technical lead for a team that manages and deploys a consumer facing Identity Platform (IdP), Gluu, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, maintenance and support.
• Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering on AWS cloud infrastructure requirements and CI/CD processes used to deploy and maintain the IdP.
• Plan and execute releases of IdP updates for Amway Markets environments.
• Lead efforts focused on reliability, scalability, security, observability, operational excellence, performance, cost-optimization improvements and triaging issues for problem resolution.
• Increase operational efficiencies through automation and machine learning.
• Ensure IdP cloud resources adhere to Amway application requirements and governance policy for cloud resources operations, security, and cost.
• Implement new IdP requirements or configuration to support new feature development and delivery.
• Interact with IdP vendor for support and features requests.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another technology-related field.
• 6+ years of relevant technology experience.
• 5+ years managing enterprise software or application platforms in public cloud environments.
• 3+ years supporting full life-cycle management of commercial off-the-shelf products across installation, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and vendor engagement.
• 3+ years delivering cloud-based solutions on AWS.
• Significant experience engineering and operating critical enterprise platforms.
• Experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, security controls, and production operations.
• Experience with triage of complex incidents for fast recovery, and incident root-cause analysis.
• Experience implementing telemetry for monitoring, metrics, tracing, dashboards and alerts.
• Experience leading production readiness, release planning, release execution and rollback.
• Experience with commercial software lifecycle management and vendor escalation.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical incidents and global releases.
• Ability to collaborate across countries, functions, and time zones.

Skills to be successful in the role:

• Strong skills in scripted automation using PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
• Experience with AWS CDK (Typescript)
• Strong analytical thinking, structured troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively balance priorities against ecosystem health, availability, security, reliability, performance, interoperability, and cost.
• Strong collaboration skills to work across global cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and solution-design skills.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Routinely remediates problems with automation, platform improvements, or operational standards.
• Experience using approved AI-assisted tools to improve engineering productivity, analysis, documentation, and automation.
• Working knowledge of authentication, authorization, federation, and identity lifecycle concepts.
• Strong task management and prioritization capabilities.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and tools such as GitHub, Dynatrace, Jira, Confluence, and enterprise collaboration platforms.
